HELP JOSH ATTEND THE LAMMY AWARDS
As you can read below, I was recently nominated for a Lambda Literary Award (Lammy for short). The award ceremony is going to be held in New York City at the end of May, and I'd really like to attend, but as a starving artist it's a little more than I can afford. There are two ways you can help me make it to the Lammy Awards next month.
First up, I'm going to auction off naming rights to a character in my upcoming Killian Kendall novel, A Change of Worlds. Here's how it works: The winner of the auction can choose to use his or her own name or a nickname. The winner will also get to choose which character he wants to be (from a choice of several important characters). The character will not be an ongoing or reoccurring character, but it will be an important secondary character in the book and will appear in numerous scenes. The winner can choose to be a good guy or a bad guy, and whether you live or die.
Or, if you're not really interested in naming a character, you can just make a direct contribution:
Thank you for all your support! Good luck with auction!
ALL LOST THINGS IS LAMMY AWARD FINALIST
All Lost Things, the third book in Josh Aterovis's award-winning Killian Kendall Mystery Series, was named a Lambda Literary Award finalist for Gay Mystery on Tuesday, March 16th. The Lambda Literary Award is the oldest, most competitive and prestigious literary award in the LGBT community.
"This has been a record year for queer books," said the 2009 Lambda Awards Administrator, Richard Labonté, who has been associated with the Lammys since their inception in 1989 as a judge and consultant. "The number of titles nominated and the number of publishers represented is in both cases about 10 per cent higher than last year."
Winners will be announced at the 22nd Annual Awards, May 27 in New York at the School of Visual Arts Theater, 333 West 23rd Street.
"In a year of challenge and change for writers and publishers - and for the Foundation - the hundreds of books submitted for nomination illustrate the continuing dynamism of our literature," said Lambda Foundation Board President Katherine V. Forrest. "This year's Lambda Literary Award Finalists and the quality of their work speak eloquently to the richness and range of our literature."
LISTEN TO MY RAINBOW WORLD RADIO INTERVIEW
I was recently interviewed by Rainbow World Radio and the episode premiered this week at www.rainbowworldradio.com. It will be streaming for at least the next two week. Be sure to give it a listen!
TWO NEW INTERVIEWS
Two more interviews with me hit the web this month. The first was a fun, tongue-in-cheek Q&A with fellow author Eric Arvin. You can check it out on his blog, Daventry Blue. The second was with BookWenches, who may recall reviewed All Lost Things very favorably back in November. You can read that interview on their site, BookWenches.com.
ORDER YOUR SIGNED COPIES
Order your signed copies of Bleeding Hearts, Reap the Whirlwind, and All Lost Things. You can purchase them online or from your local bookstore, but the only way to get signed copies is directly from me. There are several shipping options, including to the UK and Canada. If you are from another country and would like to have a signed copy shipped to you, please email me and let me know and I'll set up a special ordering link for you.
Thanks for your patience and support!
FACEBOOK and MYSPACE
The best way to keep up with me these days is to add me as a friend on either Facebook or MySpace (or both). They get updated far more regularly than this website. Find him on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/joshaterovis or become a fan on Facebook by clicking the link below:
SIGN UP FOR THE MAILING LIST
If you're not on the mailing list, sign up to receive regular updates about the stories, website, important news, and occasional personal messages from me, the author! There are two lists, which means you can choose your level of involvement. One is an announcement only list, the other allows for interaction among the list members, although it is still a very low-volume list. Both lists are hosted by Topica.
