Welcome to the EXPANDED World of Killian Kendall
When I first started writing the Killian Kendall Mysteries, I never imagined how much bigger his world would become. Over the years, I found myself telling stories that didn’t quite fit into the main series—stories about the people Killian meets, the lives they led before crossing his path, and the moments that happen when the mystery is over and the book has ended.
That’s what this collection is: the stories between the stories.
Some of these short stories and novellas fill in pieces of familiar characters’ pasts. Others introduce new faces or give us a glimpse into quieter, more personal moments in Killian’s life. Together, they offer a different way of looking at the world I’ve spent so many years building around him.
If you’ve followed Killian from the beginning, I hope these stories give you a chance to spend a little more time with characters you already know—and maybe see them in a new light. And if you’re discovering the Killian Kendall universe for the first time, welcome. There’s always room for another story.

Bright Things Come to Confusion

Before he ever met Killian Kendall in Bleeding Hearts, Seth Connelly was a smart, guarded teen trying to make sense of a world that rarely made sense to him. In Bright Things Come to Confusion, Seth shares how he came to terms with his identity—from the painful clarity of coming out to the bittersweet sting of a first crush.
At the heart of the story is a search for belonging, truth, and the father who vanished from his life. As Seth unearths long-buried secrets, he begins to see family—and himself—more clearly. Honest, sharp-witted, and deeply human, this coming-of-age story shines new light on a beloved character.
Seth narrates this tale from the expanded Killian Kendall universe.
This story takes place before Bleeding Hearts.

Kane’s Kiss

Kane and Ty have been friends for a while — good friends, but not the kind who talk about their feelings. All that changes one summer afternoon when Kane wipes out on his skateboard.
Kane’s Kiss is a warm, funny, and unexpectedly tender story about friendship, trust, and identity. It’s not a romance. It’s not about falling in love. It’s about the courage it takes to ask questions, and the kind of friend who doesn’t flinch when you ask them. It’s about growing up surrounded by noise and pressure, and finding moments of quiet honesty where you can just be who you are — even if you’re still figuring that out.
This story is narrated by Kane Connelly and takes place between Reap the Whirlwind and All Lost Things.
